Mossman Botanic Gardens

Located between the world's oldest living rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef, Mossman Botanic Garden is being developed as a purpose built research botanic garden designed to protect and conserve the rich biodiversity of the Wet Tropics in Queensland.

To bring this critical garden to life, we need your support. The Mossman Botanic Garden site is currently just over 20 hectares in area, which has been divided into 204,500 individual squares. Each square (one square metre) is available annually for sponsorship and 100% of the funding will help to deliver our vision.

1 MBG Square - Each MBG square donation makes a big difference and will help Stage 1 of the Mossman Botanic garden start growing from the ground up. $25.00

5 MBG Squares - Your 5 squares donation will go towards the construction of our permanent community garden, developing an era of community knowledge building around growing sustainable food in the Wet Tropics. $125.00

10 MBG Squares - A 10 squares donation supports vital soil analysis and the start of the long journey taking us from a degraded cane paddock to a world class regenerated and biodiversity rich research botanic garden. $250.00

30 MBG Squares - A 30 square donation will go towards the cost of our Stage 1A greenhouse and work station that will enable the MBG to start working on site with important or endangered plants that have been collected ex-situ and brought into the garden for safekeeping and research. $750.00

50 MBG Squares - A 50 square donation will go towards vital equipment required to maintain and water all resident plants in the Stage One gardens, including our new 4,500 tree ‘Biggest Little Mini Rainforest’. $1,250

75 MBG Squares - A 75 square donation will assist our team and increase its capacity to coordinate and manage collaborative biodiversity data, to be shared between botanic institutes around the world. $1,850

100 MBG Squares - A 100 square donation will support our key operations across the project, including project management, on-site staff and covers our in-house ability to expand global funding mechanisms. $2,500

When I sponsor a square, where does the money go?

All funds raised go directly to the Mossman Botanic Garden and are used to support key initiatives within the masterplan with the Stage One of the MBG being the first recipient of funds

Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes any donation over $2 is fully tax deductible.

How do I know my donation is making a positive impact?

We will be providing impact reports upon commencement of Stage One to show you the progress as it happens.

Accountability, transparency and measurability will be integral to this project and we will ensure updates are given as the project expands.
